Synopsis ⤵️

What is it like to be a binman?

As a bin lorry clatters down the street one morning, a little boy is watching with interest.

Just like the binmen, David is wearing his brightly coloured bobble hat, and he is ready to tidy things up.

But everything in his home begins to disappear!

And what happened to Daddy’s important letter?

About The Author ⤵️

Sue Wickstead is a teacher and an author and writes children’s picture books with a bus theme. She has also written a photographic history book about the real bus, which is where her story writing began. Sue once worked with a play charity which was based on a double-decker bus. This led her to write the photographic history book about the project. Sue then began to write a fictional tale about the bus. ‘Jay-Jay the Supersonic Bus’, his number plate JJK261 gave him his name and has now been followed by more picture books which all indeed have a bus connection as well as links to her teaching journey.

My Review ⤵️

This is a beautifully illustrated story book about a young boy called David, who is fascinated by the bin men who show up every Wednesday to collect the rubbish. Just watching them inspires him to take a tour around his home collecting ‘rubbish’ and dumping it in his own private rubbish tip!

I wish our bin men were as eager and vigilant as young David!

The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and tell a story all of their own. The book encourages children to use their imagination and to partake in role playing activities, this is great for a young child’s mental and physical development.

I highly recommended this adorable and funny children’s book! Go pick it up kids!

5 Stars!

      1. Thank you.
I’m not sure how I missed it.
I found it today on your website.
I do indeed love reading and especially at the moment with my young grandson, who is 2 and a half ‘ish.
He loved the bin lorry story especially as we sometimes see the noisy lorry passing down the street.
hopefully (well he will) love the bus stories too.
A Spooky Tale is another favourite and of course Barty because he is in the story.
but most of all he enjoys finding a picture of Nanny in the books. LOL
I will look again on ‘Instagram’ not sure how I missed it?
P.S. I’m having a few problems with my iphone

    1. I have to tell my son that as he doesn’t appreciate my books … not technical enough.
But then again we loved reading together but we also had the Playbus to play on too.
